Hello friends,
Some of you will know my Dad, others may not. For those who have met him, you’ll know he is an exceptionally kind and loving man.
As many of you also know, my Dad has been unwell for some time. Over the last couple of years he has recovered from two strokes, spinal surgery, two cancers, and most recently a severe chest infection. Despite everything, he has remained gentle, generous, and quietly resilient.
Sadly, a few days ago, he was scammed out of almost all the money he had. Scammers pretending to be me convinced him to “lend” them £2,175 — money he gave without hesitation, out of the loving heart of a father trying to help his child. That sum may not seem huge, but it represents years of careful saving from his pension, and losing it has been devastating for him.
Contributing to this crowdfunder is not so much about the money. If that were all that mattered, we could solve it privately as a family. Rather it is about reminding my Dad that when his luck is down, people care — and that kindness still exists when he needs it most.
Any small contribution will help lift his spirits, restore his faith in humanity, and give him strength as he continues to face his ongoing health challenges.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Beth
p.s. my dad also spent some time as a novice monk (photo attached).
