Help my family to have a home and a safe future from the war

: Hello, my name is Mahmoud Al-Sawalhi and today I come to you with a heavy heart as I, my family of seven and my sick grandmother face indescribable challenges. Our lives have been torn apart and we find ourselves in dire need of your help and support to escape the devastation in Gaza City and start over. Our life has been wonderful as my wife and I worked tirelessly for fifteen years to secure a safe life for our children. We overcame all difficulties and obstacles to achieve a bright and brilliant future for them.

But everything changed since October 7th. The war turned our lives upside down. My husband and I lost our jobs, which were our source of income. In addition, our safe house was turned into a pile of rubble. We were forced to flee and move to another place. We were displaced from the north of Gaza to the south, amidst the bombing and fear.

We now live in a tent that lacks the most basic necessities of life. We live in constant fear. We cannot get enough food or clean water. I suffer with my twin children, who are no more than a year and a half old, as I cannot provide them with milk and diapers in light of the high cost of living. Also, my children's grandmother suffers because she is unable to walk due to an injury she sustained in the war that resulted in a fracture in her pelvis and she needs special care.

This situation has imposed a huge burden on us that we cannot cope with and do not want to. However, we face it and we are hopeful that it will end. We need at least 4,000 euros per person to secure the resources we need and the necessary permits to leave Gaza through the Rafah crossing. This means a total of 30,000 euros. I ask you, with all humility and sincerity, to contribute with everything you can to us in light of what we are going through, as every euro can make a big difference in our lives and will help us secure a safe passage for us to have a better life.
