Help my family survive the Gaza catastrophe

Dear friends, family, and community,

My name is Bayan Yousef, a qualified medical doctor from Gaza, I am reaching out to you with heavy hearts and a deep sense of hope as I share a deeply personal and challenging chapter of my life since the war on Gaza began on October 7.

Our family, consisting of my parents, one sister, and five brothers, totaling 9 individuals, endured treacherous conditions and unimaginable hardship. As conditions worsen and our lives are threatened daily, this is an urgent plea for help to survive Gaza. Our home has been destroyed and we have been holding out since January 3. Nowadays we have been suffering from poor food sources, no clean water, no electricity, limited internet, and insufficient medical care for the last five months. We have witnessed destruction and death all around, heard bombs day and night, and been exposed to white phosphorus being dropped down, that is beside the emotional and psychological toll from which we may never recover.

Before the war, we lived a modest but satisfactory life, I am a general practitioner who works in the Nussairate Central Clinic. During the war, I was and still am at the helm of my job in the shelters despite the unrelenting bombardment and devastation. My immediate goal now is to survive Gaza with my family and to secure an Egyptian medical license. This step will help me survive Gaza and pursue my passion for medicine.

Due to the recent bombardment my younger brother Abdullallah, was caught in one of the bombings. He was fortunately rescued from underneath the rubble but received injuries to his head. He hopes to seek medical attention to ensure that his physical injuries are not long-lasting, although, the psychological effects of the war will leave a lasting impact. After he escapes Gaza, he hopes to make it to Canada where he will seek medical attention and continue his education in Healthcare Administration.

My twin brothers, Moad and Yousef, the youngest of my siblings, are in their last year of high school. The war has ended the school year early and has left them without a future. They hope to further their education in Canada in hopes of building themselves a brighter future.

Please donate! Every contribution no matter how small brings us life, helps us escape this nightmare and have a future, a hope, a chance. We understand the importance of transparency and we commit to keeping you updated on our progress

Thank you for reading, and let me remind you that your support means more than financial assistance, it is solidarity, compassion in the face of injustice, humanity, and a commitment to preserving human lives.
