Help Hind and her fiancé to survive
My name is Hind Khaleel. I am 24 years old, from Gaza. Being from Gaza now is synonymous to having lost family, but the 7 people I have lost are not just family. They were my home, my hopes and dreams.
The first to go was my older sister, who was like my soul, then I lost Salam and her husband Mohammad and the son of my very heart Hadi. Just like his name, Hadi was like a calm breeze, gently on the soul. The blows of war did not stop there… It also kidnapped with it Sham, who was only 2 years old.
From there, the pain piled on, with the loss of the coolness of my eyes, my soulmate, my brother Ibrahim, along with his wife Fatimah, and his only daughter Abeer.
Half of our family has been wiped away from existence, and the other half is still here, trying to bear the heavy weight of their loss. We are only 6 now; me, Hind, my mother and father, my brother, and my sister. Of course, we have also taken Ali with us, the son of my sister Salam, the only survivor of his family.
Ali has a harrowing story at such a tender age; when his family home was targeted and bombed, he remained underneath the rubble for 3 days, surrounded by the mute bodies of his family. He has to have an operation and is in dire need of physical and mental therapy after this experience.
When it comes to mother, the most humble, pure woman, she has been suffering from cancer for several years now, and has had surgeries before the aggression. Since the beginning of this horrible onslaught, she cannot find the medication she needs, and cannot get the open heart surgery she needs to live. She has lost 80% of her sight from crying over her slain kids.
We’ve lost a lot; we lost 7 smiles from family members we dearly loved, we lost our home and all the memories in its corners..
The occupation would not leave it standing; they burned it down after stealing all of our appliances and electronics.
We need your help to be able to get her the needed treatment, and to be able to continue to survive as a broken family. Your help means the difference between life or death, it can grant us the ability to continue living.
Thank you for your support.
