On September 11, 2025, my family’s home in Daly City was devastated by a fire. My kids lost the only home they have ever known. Their father, who has always been a reliable and helpful presence in their life, and my mom, who is there supporting the kids while I care for my elderly grandfather in Fresno, are both doing their best to keep things together.

Right now, my family is facing the urgent need to replace basic essentials and secure housing during the rebuild. The fire has left them with almost nothing, and they are relying on the kindness of others to help get through this difficult time. My children are struggling to understand why their world has changed so suddenly, so we are doing everything we can to keep their spirits up while managing our own heartbreak.
