My name is Ashley Gregaitis Nembhard and I’m reaching out from Ocala Florida to ask for help for my family and community in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.
Hurricane Melissa made direct landfall in the parish, leaving behind heartbreaking damage. Homes, roads, businesses, and even hospitals were destroyed — and many families, including mine, have been left with nothing.
My husband Howayne Nembhard and our family in Black River are now trying to rebuild their homes with very limited resources. Many are without electricity, clean water, or basic necessities. From here in Florida, I’m doing everything I can to help them recover and rebuild.
This GoFundMe will go directly toward:
Basic necessities like food, clean water, and clothing
Hygiene items and medical supplies
Roofing materials, tools, and other essentials to rebuild homes
Every contribution — no matter the amount — will make a real difference. Your kindness will help provide stability, comfort, and hope to families who’ve lost so much.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page so we can reach others who may be able to help.
Thank you for your compassion, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Together, we can help rebuild Black River and St. Elizabeth stronger than before.
