My name is Sarah Segrest, and in August 2025, my world changed forever. After a lifetime of wondering about my roots, I finally reconnected with my biological mother in Vietnam. For an adoptee, that first video call was more than just a conversation, it was the bridge to a past I thought was lost.

The Mission: A Space for My Brother

My family in Vietnam works incredibly hard to provide for one another, yet they still face significant challenges with their living conditions. Most pressing is the situation for my younger brother; he currently lacks a proper bedroom or a dedicated space to call his own.

Since starting my full-time career, I have worked hard to establish my own independence, but I feel a profound responsibility to use my platform to lift up the family I’ve just found. I am launching this fundraiser to provide them with the essentials that many of us take for granted.
