My family and I have been facing one challenge after another, and we are reaching out for help during the most difficult time of our lives. In August 2025, my husband broke his foot and has been unable to work since then. Just a few months later, in December, our only family van burned down, and we had no gap insurance to cover the loss. That van was the only vehicle that could fit all six of us, and now we are left with a car that only has three seats.
As if that wasn't enough, the home we've lived in for the past seven years has been sold, and we have to move out by February 20th, 2026. We have four children—two 9-year-olds, a 6-year-old, and a 4-year-old. Our 9-year-old son is autistic and needs the stability of his current special needs program, but the only local programs available would move us far from his support system and uproot our other children as well. Our county doesn't have emergency housing options that would keep us together and close to the resources our son needs. My husband is still waiting for foot surgery, which will keep him out of work for at least another six months, though he will receive some compensation through a lawyer.
We are doing everything we can—looking into loans, state programs, and any possible solution—but nothing has worked so far. The funds we raise will go directly toward a down payment on a home so we don't end up homeless. If there is anything extra, it will help us get a vehicle that can safely transport our family.
