My name is Jose, and right now my family—my mom, my two teenage siblings, and I—are living together in a small motel room. We became homeless after my mom lost some work at her job because we didn’t have reliable transportation. Every day is a struggle as we try to make ends meet, not knowing what tomorrow will bring or how we’ll afford our next meal.

Having a stable apartment would mean everything to us. It would give my mom and me a chance to finally breathe and take a break from the constant stress and worry. My siblings are doing their best to stay focused on school, and I’m determined to find a way to lift us out of poverty. With a safe place to live, we could start rebuilding our lives and focus on our future instead of just surviving day to day.

The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward securing an apartment for our family. This support will help us cover the deposit and rent so we can finally have a place to call home and focus on getting back on our feet. Any help you can give will make a real difference for us as we work toward stability and hope. We are planning to use these donations to pay for the apartment for one month and my mom will receive help from the government so she can pay monthly.
