Hi everyone, this is my dad, Francisco. He has been living in the United States for almost 30 years. He is a father of four and granddad of three, and despite many hardships in our family recently, keeping our small family together is all we have.

Recently, our lives were turned upside down when he was taken into immigration custody at the beginning of September. He was held at Alligator Alcatraz for a month, he is now being held at Broward Transitional Center, an hour from Miami. He now faces a long and difficult legal process that could end in the separation of our family and the only home he has known for decades. We want to fight for him to stay in the U.S. legally, but the costs of immigration lawyers and court fees are overwhelming. We are also, unfortunately, trying to prepare for the worse...deportation.

My dad is a great man, he is shy and hilarious when you get to know him. He works hard, he tries to do the right thing, and he loves his family more than anything. We believe he deserves the chance to fix his status and continue building his life here with us.
