On April 15th, I was helping a friend with a side job cutting down trees. While moving a tree, I slipped on a piece of slate, and the trunk hit my right shoulder, pushing me forward. I fell, and the tree landed on both my legs. The result was a four-inch laceration above my ankle, crushed bones, and a wound that went all the way to the bone. I needed surgery to put my ankle back together with screws and pins. I have no insurance and was working as a 1099 employee, so I’m facing this recovery without coverage. My biggest fear is my family losing everything because I can’t work. The surgeon said I’ll need at least eight weeks with absolutely no weight on my foot, followed by rehabilitation and physical therapy.
Going from a two-income family to one is a huge challenge. The funds raised here will help cover our living expenses, childcare, medical bills, and prescriptions while I recover. Your support will help us stay afloat and give me a chance to heal without worrying about losing our home or not being able to provide for my family.
To everyone this reaches, I need more prayers than anything right now. Without the good Lord, I wouldn’t be here. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to ask, especially today, my dad’s four-year death anniversary. I’ve never needed to ask for help before—he always had me. Even when I had stage three Hodgkin’s lymphoma and did chemotherapy every Friday, I still worked. But now, I have no choice. Times are tough for everyone, so please only help if you can. Even one dollar would be a blessing to my family. May God bless you all.
