So, some crazy stuff has happened recently in my life, and people have said if you don’t ask, you won’t know. So I’m asking for help. Here is my story.

So I had planned a vacation for myself and my parents to go to Walt Disney World at the end of February. Everything was set and ready. About a week before, my dad went in for a procedure to have steroid shots in his knees to help him with his constant knee pain. Fast forward to 3 days prior to departure, he ends up with excruciating knee pain, and it’s not getting better, so we decided to cancel his portion of the trip. Mom and I go, and we have an amazing time. While there, we obviously worried about dad. We talk to him every day, and he’s feeling better while we are gone. We get back; mom goes back home, and I go back to the OC.

It’s now March 1st, and I get a phone call that my mom has called an ambulance for my dad because he’s in excruciating pain and can’t get up. So he’s transported to the hospital. Mom isn’t allowed to go in the ambulance, so she’s at home for a few hours alone. She decided to go up to the hospital and bring dad clean clothes (mind you, she hasn’t been behind the wheel for about 6-8 months). Well, she gets into a crash outside of the hospital (thank God it was at the hospital, but the car is undrivable). I got a call from the nurse at the hospital letting me know she’s now a patient. This was about 9:30 pm on the 1st. She was admitted, taken for X-rays, and was released. Dad was transferred from the hospital to a rehabilitation center where he’s been since Sunday, 3/2. I reported to work on the 2nd. I’ve let my leaders know what’s going on, and they have allowed me to have a few days off. So I was with mom from 3/2, after work, till 3/5. I returned to work for one shift and then returned to be with mom while dad is in the rehabilitation center. I plan to return to OC on Monday with mom, where she’s going to stay with me until Friday, when we will then come back to Simi and take care of some appointments. So needless to say, I’m doing a lot of driving and being away from my home. I’m trying not to miss that much work, but thankfully my leaders have been very supportive. I’ve also applied for FMLA. And the last straw is my computer took a dump as well. So what I’m asking for is any help financially. Any help for food or a bill will be greatly appreciated.
