Hi, my name is Wendy and I’m the parent of a wonderful 11-year-old girl who has just begun her journey into home education.

This decision wasn’t made lightly — for a long time, she struggled in mainstream school due to severe anxiety and mental health challenges. Despite having an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan), the traditional classroom environment became too overwhelming for her. The stress and sensory overload were impacting not only her education but her emotional well-being.

Home education offers her the chance to learn in a calm, safe, and supportive space — at her own pace, free from anxiety triggers. But starting from scratch comes with financial challenges, especially since government funding through her EHCP doesn’t cover homeschooling.

We’re trying to raise money to help cover:

A structured and flexible homeschooling curriculum

A laptop or tablet for online learning and educational app

Specialist tutoring and resources tailored to her emotional needs.

We’ve just begun, and we’re doing our best — but we can’t do it alone. Your support can help give her the peaceful start she needs in this new chapter.
