My name is Robert, a retired correctional officer and I’m Michelle’s father. In December 2022, my daughter Michelle was diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. As of this week, she has started her first treatment of chemotherapy. Michelle will not be able to work while undergoing treatment. Her family and I are doing what we can to help. Michelle is a single mother with two young children. Your generous donation will help offset the financial costs for Michelle while undergoing treatment. I thank you in advance for reading and for any donation you can provide.
Michelle is a fighter! At the age of 17 she has had many medical challenges. Her first major medical challenge was being diagnosed with kidney failure. She was placed on dialysis until a kidney match was found. A family member was matched and a kidney was generously donated. Shortly after the donated kidney her body rejected it and she went back on dialysis. She later on had a second kidney donated and has been living with her second donated kidney for over 12 years.
In 2018 at the age of 37, Michelle had a heart attack and like many of us suffered two bouts of COVID. Her first COVID almost killed her because of her medical conditions & her second bout with COVID was this past week and had to be admitted to the hospital for 3 days. To say the least, Michelle has always tried to maintain employment. At this time she will be forced to go on medical leave. The option to work remote is not an option.
Michelle has overcome so many challenges while trying to provide a sense of normalcy for her two young children. Like you, all Michelle wants is to be able to work and care for her children. Michelle is a very kind hearted individual who is very selfless and her first priority is always her children. Michelle and her entire family appreciate you reading her story and for any financial support you can give to her. All proceeds will go to her directly.
Sincerely Robert Chimkey
