When Two or More Agree — Faith Moves and Prayer Activates
My name is Mignon Pinson, and I’m humbly asking for your prayers, love, a donor, and support for my family as we face one of the toughest battles of our lives. My 21-year-old daughter, Maya, and my 79-year-old mother are both fighting End Stage (5) kidney disease, and they urgently need help.
Maya’s Story — A Young Life Fighting for a Future
Recently, we learned that my daughter Maya has end-stage kidney disease and is in need of a kidney donor as soon as possible. She’s officially on the transplant list, but the wait for a deceased donor can take 5+ years.
A living donor, however, could help her receive a life-saving transplant much sooner, giving her more time — more life — and more hope.
Maya is a college senior, a proud member of the College Honor Society, and continues to maintain high honor grades despite constant treatments and doctor visits. She’s majoring in Film and is already a young director and actress who uses her gifts to inspire others through storytelling and faith-based films.
Her dream is to graduate in May 2026, walk across that stage strong, healthy, and full of life — and with your prayers and support, I believe she will.
If you—or someone you know—would like to see if you’re a match to be a donor for Maya, please contact:
Helana Vincent at the George W Transplant Institute:
Let her know you’d like to be a donor for Maya Pinson.
You must be 18 years or older, any gender, and any race.
✅ All medical testing, surgery, and related expenses are fully covered by insurance — whether you’re insured, retired, or unemployed. There is no financial cost to the donor.
My Mother’s Journey — Strength, Laughter, and Love
My mother is 79 years old and the eldest living child of 11 siblings. She’s a joyful woman of faith who’s spent her life giving to others. Even now, she keeps us laughing every time we’re around her — her humor fills the room and brings light to even the hardest days.
She’s also living with short-term memory loss, which makes her health journey even more delicate. As her primary caregiver, I’ve watched her strength and faith continue to shine through, even as our family faces these trials together.
A Mother’s Heart
Having both my mother and daughter in Stage 5 kidney failure at the same time has been one of the hardest things my family has ever faced. Some days are overwhelming, but I hold on to faith and stay strong for them and for the rest of my family.
It saddens me deeply that I am not a match, yet I continue to believe that God will send the right donor for Maya very soon.
