Help My Dad Start Over After 35 Years in the U.S.

Hello everyone,

I’m writing this with a heavy heart to ask for help for my dad, who is being deported to Mexico after living in the U.S. for over **35 years**. My dad came here chasing the American dream ,to work hard, build a better life, and give his family opportunities he never had. And that’s exactly what he did. He’s always been the kind of man who puts everyone else first family, friends, even strangers.

Sadly, due to circumstances beyond our control, he now has to leave everything behind his home, his friends, his community, and most painfully, **his family**.

These past months have been one of the hardest times of our lives. My dad was **detained for 8 long months**, and during that time, my mom and our family have done everything we could to support him. We’ve been paying **lawyer fees, court costs, travel expenses, and visitation fees** just to see him and fight for him. It has taken such a toll on us emotionally, mentally, and financially.

Now, he’s being sent back to a country he hasn’t lived in for decades. He will arrive there with **no resources, no support system, and no income**. His **Social Security benefits**, which were his only source of income, are being taken away because of his deportation.

We are heartbroken. My dad is not just a father he’s an **amazing grandfather** who loves his grandkids more than anything. The hardest part is knowing he won’t get to watch them grow up, go to school, or celebrate birthdays and holidays with us. The thought of him being alone after all he’s given to this country and to our family is unbearable.

We just want to help him have something to start over with a small cushion to find safe housing, get basic necessities, and rebuild a life in a place that’s now completely unfamiliar to him.
