My dad, RJ Hellums, has always been the kind of person who puts others first. He’s the one who will stop to help a stranger on the side of the road, offer a hand to anyone in need, and even give the shirt off his back without a second thought. He’s spent his life giving to others before thinking of himself, and his kindness has touched so many people in our community.

On Christmas, my dad’s truck caught fire and was a total loss, and unfortunately, his insurance had lapsed. This truck was not just a vehicle—it was his way of getting to work, helping friends and neighbors, and continuing to be there for anyone who needed a hand. Losing it has been a huge loss, and it’s made it much harder for him to do the things he loves. On top of the loss of the truck, all of his tools were also inside of it and nothing was salvagable.

My dad is not the type of person to ask for help on his own, so I’m reaching out on his behalf. We’re hoping to raise enough to get him a replacement vehicle so he can get back on the road and continue making a difference.
