Help My Dad Rebuild After Devastating Theft
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I am reaching out with a heavy heart to share unfortunate news that has recently shaken our family. A little over a week ago, on Sunday, June 30th, my dad’s work van was stolen, along with 20 years’ worth of essential landscaping equipment and tools he used for his small business, Niko’s Home Improvement. This loss is not just a financial blow but a devastating setback that threatens his ability to provide for our family.
My dad, an immigrant who has worked tirelessly to build a better life for us, has always been a hard-working and dedicated man. Over the past 20 years, he has served the residents, small businesses, and local churches of Fairfield County with dedication and optimism. He has done everything he can to support us and ensure we have a stable future. However, his insurance will only cover the stolen vehicle and will not cover the stolen equipment, valued at around $30,000, leaving him unable to work and facing the daunting task of replacing everything out of pocket—an impossible feat given our current circumstances.
This theft is part of a troubling string of burglaries plaguing Norwalk, a hard-working middle-class town full of dedicated people like my father. The unfairness of this situation weighs heavily on us, as so many families in our community are being targeted and victimized by these crimes.
We are humbly asking for your support to help my dad get back on his feet and continue to provide for our family. The money raised will go directly toward replacing the stolen equipment, ensuring he can return to work and continue supporting us during this challenging time. If you are unable to provide financial support, any guidance towards grants, funds, or organizations that can donate equipment would be highly appreciated as well.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for any support you can offer. Even reading and sharing our story is helpful. Your generosity will make a tremendous difference in our lives and help us overcome this difficult period.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Melissa and the Rojo-Salazar Family
