Help My Dad Live His Bucket List Before It’s Too Late
If you’ve known my dad, Tim Arrington, for a long time, then you already know: his heart is one of the biggest there is. And if you don’t know him, I want you to understand the kind of man he is.
My dad has always believed in helping others, even when he didn’t have much himself. It’s something he instilled in me and my family from the very beginning. Growing up, I watched him live that belief every day.
With his business, Arrington Towing, he often gave free towing and recovery services to people who were struggling. He never hesitated to pull over and offer a ride to someone walking in the heat, just so they could cool off in his air-conditioned truck. He opened our home to those who had nowhere else to go. And he gave jobs and second chances to people who needed help getting back on their feet.
He’s the kind of man who shows up for others. Now, it’s our turn to show up for him.
Recently, my dad was diagnosed with advanced-stage lung cancer. The news has been overwhelming and heartbreaking. We don’t know how much time he has left, but we do know this: he wants to make the most of it and we're now focused on making the time he has left as meaningful as possible.
More than anything, my dad wants to live out a few dreams, simple but powerful things that would bring him joy and peace. Before his health declines further, he has a short list of experiences he’s dreamed of doing, things that would bring him peace, joy, and a sense of closure. Things like seeing the ocean one last time, driving the Tail of the Dragon one last time, going on a road trip to visit a few special places and old friends from his past, and making some lasting memories with family.
These are simple wishes, but with limited resources, it’s hard to make them happen on our own. That’s why I’m creating this GoFundMe, to ask for help in giving my dad a few beautiful, unforgettable moments before he says goodbye.
Your donation will go directly toward covering repairs on his car, travel costs, accommodations, and any special experiences on his bucket list. Every dollar helps. Even if you’re not in a place to give, sharing this with your friends and community would mean the world to us.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, supporting, and helping us honor a man whose kindness has touched so many.
