Help My Dad Follow His Dreams

Growing up, my dad was always my hero. When other kids in class were asked what they wanted to be when they grew up, they would always give answers like firefighter or doctor. I always said my dad. No matter what happened, he was always there to make me laugh and smile and realize things were gonna be ok. At the age of two, my parents got divorced, and my mom took my brother and I away from our home in New Jersey to Connecticut… 2 and a half hours away from my dad. He couldn’t live near our new town, so we only got to see him every other weekend. He essentially was stuck in New Jersey.
My dad has been a math professor for 31 years, majority at a community college. As you can imagine, he didn’t have a lot of savings on a teacher’s salary. To make matters worse, during the pandemic my dad wasn’t hired back due to the lack of students at the college.
He’s never been happy in Jersey since my brother and I left. He claimed for years that he never wanted to die in Jersey, and his ultimate goal was to live out the rest of his life as one big adventure! Luckily though, one of his neighbors was hanging out at my dad’s house one day and brought up that his brother was looking for a place nearby. My dad saw this as a sign that now is finally the time to leave Jersey and live the way he wanted to. He’s currently selling the house and is trying to sell everything he owns to be able to afford moving to Ecuador, his dream retirement. Even through selling everything, he still may not have enough to live for the rest of his life.
For 19 years, my dad has done so much for my brother and I. It’s time that I finally tried to do something for him. Please help fund his dream so that my selfless father can get the happy ending he deserves.
I love you dad.
