Yesterday, my cousins world was shattered in a way nobody never imagined possible. In a matter of moments, my cousin, her 2 kids and her father lost their home and everything inside it to a devastating fire.
Her father is a stroke survivor. When the fire broke out, he couldn’t escape on his own. Despite his limitations, he tried with everything he had to get out. Firefighters found him inside the home, and he is now in critical condition with second- and third-degree burns. Our family is praying daily for his survival and strength as he faces an incredibly long and painful road to recovery.
Her youngest son was also inside the home when the fire started, while her oldest son was at school. By God’s grace, the youngest survived. Both children are now without a home or belongings and are carrying the weight of a traumatic experience no child should ever have to endure. This family is now facing overwhelming medical bills, the need for temporary housing, clothing, basic necessities, and the emotional weight of starting over from absolutely nothing. They are hurting, scared, and trying to stay strong in the middle of unimaginable loss.
We are humbly asking for any support you can give—whether it’s a donation, a prayer, or simply sharing this fundraiser. Every single act of kindness means more than words can express and helps remind this family that they are not alone.
Thank you for opening your hearts to them during the most difficult time of their lives.
