Help My Brother Terrance Powell Rebuild His Life After 28 Years
Peace Family,
My name is Kimonti Carter, and many of you may know me from the Since I Been Down documentary. I’m reaching out today not for myself—but for my brother, Terrance Powell.
Terrance has just come home after serving 28 years behind the walls. For those who followed my story, you know Terrance is the other half of that journey—the brother who walked that road with me, the one whose courage and strength helped shape the movement you all supported.
Now it’s time for us to return that same love and support to him.
Reentry after nearly three decades isn’t easy—basic needs like housing, transportation, clothing, and steady work are major hurdles. We’re raising funds to help Terrance rebuild his life, reconnect with his family, and find stability as he steps back into a world that’s completely changed.
If my story ever inspired you, if Since I Been Down ever moved you, I’m asking you now to please give what you can—
$10, $20, $100—anything helps.
Your support will go directly toward helping Terrance get on his feet, find peace, and continue the work of transformation and healing that began long ago.
Thank you for standing with us—again.
With love and gratitude,
– Kimonti D. Carter
