My name is Ahmed, and I have been living in Belgium as a refugee since 2023. I am writing to share the heartbreaking situation facing my brother in Gaza. The ongoing war has completely destroyed his home, leaving him and his children homeless. In their desperation, they have been forced to live in a makeshift nylon tent that offers little protection from the harsh elements. Living in a nylon tent is extremely difficult. My brother Obaida and his children (Raed - Malek) including the baby Malek who was born during the war, struggle daily with the lack of privacy, safety and basic necessities of life such as clean water, food and healthcare. The tent provides insufficient shelter from the scorching summer heat and cold nights, making it almost impossible for the children to sleep or study properly.

We are doing our best to build a more efficient and safe tent. We need durable materials to ensure the tent is stable and protected, and proper covers to make it more livable. However, we desperately need your support to collect these essential items.

Any amount or material you can provide will help us provide a safer temporary shelter for my brother and his children until they can rebuild their home. Currently, sending money to Gaza via Western Union or MoneyGram is suspended. The money will be sent through relatives and acquaintances. I will be documenting the delivery.
