I’m reaching out with a heavy heart after something no one ever expects — my best friend was in a serious car accident last Friday 13th June

She was driving safely, doing everything right, when another driver turned directly into her at around 90km/h. The crash was violent, and it’s the kind of moment that reminds you how quickly life can change — and how lucky we are that she’s still here.

She wasn’t at fault. She wasn’t speeding. She was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. But that doesn’t make the aftermath any easier. She suffered a fractured sternum, extensive internal and external bruising, and soft tissue damage to her chest wall and ribs. The physical pain is overwhelming, and the emotional toll is just as heavy.

Her car — now written off — wasn’t just a vehicle. It was her independence. It allowed her to work, care for her five beautiful kids, and manage a home full of animals who rely on her. That freedom and security are now gone, and she’s unable to work for the foreseeable future.

I’ve set up this fundraiser to help her through this incredibly difficult time. It’s not easy for her to accept help, but I know how much she’s done for others — and now it’s her turn to receive some of that love and support.

• Replace her car or get something safe back on the road untill she is approved for another loan if she can get one

• Cover essential living costs while she’s recovering
