As you have probably heard, the situation here is developing rapidly. Many of my clients are not safe outside and have family members who were taken.

One such client, Ms. P, has worked with me for about two years now. She has a two young children under the age of 3. Her partner, and the only income earner in the family, was abducted by ICE on his way to Walmart January 11 in a Twin Cities suburb

I am asking for money to allow Ms. P to shelter in place and maintain housing, food, and services, along with pay approximately $1100 that her partner’s lawyer needs to try and get him released from detention.

I am writing to you to explain the situation of C, a young, hardworking, and exemplary father and the sole provider for our family. C is completely devoted to his two children: a four-month-old baby and a two-year-old boy, who are entirely dependent on him.

Our family recently suffered a devastating tragedy with the loss of his brother, who, in an act of profound generosity, donated his organs to save lives in this country. The process of repatriating his remains exhausted all our resources, leaving us in a situation of extreme economic vulnerability.

Last Sunday, faced with a complete lack of food and basic hygiene items (such as diapers) for our children, C was forced to go out and find them. As the head of the household, and desperate to see his children without sustenance, he made the decision to risk his life despite the restrictions he faced. It is important to remember that:

• He is a responsible father: He has no vices, he doesn't drink or smoke; his entire life revolves around the well-being of his family.

• We lack a support network: We don't have help from parents or other relatives; it's just the four of us struggling to get by.

• His record is clean: He has never committed a crime, and his priority has always been to do things the right way.

C is not a danger to society, but a father desperate because his children are hungry after facing a traumatic loss and a financial crisis. We ask for your understanding and support in this situation of extreme need.
