Help Ms. Deborah, Our Dining Hall Friend
Donation protected
Hey Tar Heels!
Like most of you, when I go to Chase dining hall, I look forward to a couple of warm and familiar faces, and none are quite as friendly as Ms. Deborah Paige. She is a constant light and a loving presence.
Ms. Deborah has worked for CDS for over 40 years, with a brief stint off when her son tragically passed (her initial retirement is detailed in one of the links below). She has devoted her life since high school to this school and to feeding students. She has also been recognized for her exemplary service multiple times.
This past Monday was her last day. After Ms. Deborah drove to work during a snowstorm, a fellow CDS employee hosed off her car to try to make her return home safer. However, as a supervisor, Ms. Deborah was accused of 'allowing her employee to steal water,' despite this kind act being done without her knowledge.
Ms. Deborah is now waiting for her social security to begin, which means a couple of month period where she is not eligible for unemployment or another job.
Anything helps during this difficult transition. If you can, let's support this lovely woman who has given everything to support all of us.
