ANNULMENT IN THE PHILIPPINES:SEEKING SUPPPORT FOR A NEW BEGINNING

It is with a humble heart that we are currently seeking help to fund the legal fees of an annulment in the Philippines. In the Philippines, countless Filipinas remain legally tied to emotionally harmful relationships preventing them from moving forward to start a new life.

Reason being, divorce is not supported in the Philippines which means in the eyes of the law, the woman is still bound to her husband who may have moved on and married another woman and started a new family, while the woman he first married is still legally bound to him, and can’t remarry not to mention start her life afresh because the marriage is still binding. The only way out is through annulment—a process that is long, emotionally exhausting, and financially crippling due to its high costs that could range from 250k-300k pesos ($4.5k-$5.5k usd) making it almost impossible for those who are in desperate need of change to move forward. Again, divorce is illegal no matter the circumstances and annulment remains the only legal escape from a failed and abusive marriage. A wealthy Filipina might be able to afford the fees associated with an annulment but as the rates of women in the workforce decline and the cultural expectation for men to handle all monetary aspects of the family, the poorer woman doesn’t stand a chance. cases like these are extremely rare. This is the problem that many poorer Filipina women have to endure because the other party does not contribute and often times disappearing altogether leaving the financial responsibilities of raising the children and taking care of the household in the hands of a poor helpless but hopeful woman who seeks the good of her family and the possibility of moving on to have a more satisfying relationship and possibly remarriage to someone who is able to protect and provide. Also, it is worth noting that the children are frequently the silent victims, taking in the stress and suffering in ways they are unable to comprehend or communicate. Even though it might be challenging, annulment can open the door to a healthier environment for the woman and the children to be free from the emotional instability and everyday struggles that accompany a broken home.

Marriage as we know it is of God, and for the couple it is based on shared dreams, love, and trust. However, some marriages transform into something else entirely different—something stifling, and abusive and can affect the mental and spiritual state as well as the prospect of meeting someone new—someone who listens, understands, loves wholeheartedly and does not judge—can profoundly change one’s perspective on love and marriage. Where once there was fear and heaviness, new hope can take place. The new person doesn’t replace the pain but becomes a companion in the healing, showing that love can be nurturing, respectful, and free from control showing what it’s like to feel loved, genuinely and unconditionally.

To that end, I am Antonio of Always Serving Others who is seeking to draw attention to the expensive annulment process in the Philippines and solicit financial support specifically for Mrs. Lang only, who has been separated for eleven years yet doing everything that she possibly can to support her two children, Princess and Gabriel—ages 17 and 10, respectively. My objective is to pursue sufficient funds to help pay for court filing fees, psychological evaluations, other legal fees, and associated expenditures to complete the annulment for Mrs. Lang. Perhaps after supporting Mrs. Lang, the bigger goal of helping other poor helpless but hopeful women with this same problem can be pursued. Also, the success of meeting the financial goals for this family could serve as a light and inspiration to other women who find themselves on this solitary journey to come forward for help.

Please make a note that asking for help was one of the hardest moves Mrs. Lang wanted to make. However, I assured her that it was okay because there are some good people in the world who aspire to help others who find themselves in helpless but hopeful situations. This is an effort of faith, and with any help no matter the amount, this family could build a new life that they truly deserve. This annulment is a step toward recovery, self-respect, and it's more than simply a formality. Words cannot express how much your assistance would mean. It would serve as a beacon of hope at a period of uncertainty and a reminder that this family is not fighting this battle alone.

We appreciate your time and consideration to donate keeping in mind that all funds will be raised solely for the legal fees associated with the annulment of this marriage that has been dead for eleven years.

Many thanks for all support. It will mean a lot to this family in their pursuit of a new beginning.
