Hi, I’m Amber, a coworker of Mrs. Joyce—the most deserving, kind-hearted, and faith-driven person you could ever meet.
In 2022 Mrs. Joyce’s home had suffered storm damage, they hired a contractor who promised to complete the work, including the roof, floors, doors, cabinets and bathrooms. The home was gutted by the contractor. After months of delays and partial payments from the insurance company the project stopped. The materials for the home repairs had been purchased and then stolen from the property including Mrs. Joyce’s trailer, refrigerator and freezer. The contractors insurance company didn’t cover the theft, the contractor decided to abandon the project and left the family with a home deemed unlivable. Shortly after, the insurance company went out of business and left the family with unpaid claims. The family has been paying out of pocket for a rent house throughout this time.
In September 2024, they decided to hire another contractor to repair the home. The contractor agreed to start working on the house, however, they failed a state inspection due to the lack of a water heater. Mrs. Joyce and her family purchased the water heater and other plumbing materials but for the second time it was all stolen from the property. Because the home isn’t livable, it is not insured.
For the first time in their lives Mrs Joyce and her 74 year old husband and daughter are unexpectedly homeless. They are currently living in a hotel but will soon have to seek shelter elsewhere.
To move back into their home they currently need A plumber to install the hot water heater/tub/toilet/vanity and
some electrical work to get the power turned on to make the house deemed livable. Other items that are needed are flooring (currently only plywood), cabinets, refrigerator, interior doors, and so much more!
Let’s come together to show our love and support for a family that has been through so much. Thank you for any help you can offer!
