Help M'Reld Save Her Family Home & Keep Feeding Our Village

Hi, my name is M'Reld Green — and if you know me, you know my life is rooted in family, community, and service.

Every week, I visit my elderly mother in her nursing home as she bravely battles Alzheimer’s Disease. I share our stories and photos online to inspire others and remind people that even in hardship, there is always hope and dignity.

When I’m not with my mom, you’ll find me pouring my heart out on stage — as a poet and stand-up comic — and at home with my four amazing cubs, ages four, six, eight, and ten. They are the light in my life and the inspiration for my poems, my jokes, and my strength.

But today, I find myself in need of the very support I’ve tried to give so many others.

Why I’m Asking for Help

The property taxes on my mother’s house are in arrears, and I have only until August 20 to pay them current — or we lose everything.

This house is not just bricks and mortar. It holds my mother’s history, our family’s legacy, and is the only place I have to go to create a safe, stable home for my children.

I am in the middle of a divorce, choosing to leave an environment of mental, verbal, and financial abuse — because my cubs deserve to grow up surrounded by love. But with this brave choice comes the reality: I need a safe place to land, for myself and my children.

Losing This House Would Mean Losing So Much More

Without this home:

My family loses our generational wealth and stability.

My children and I lose a place to live.

My mother loses her chance to come back home where she can be cared for with the love she deserves.

And our community loses The Sandwich Ministry, the nonprofit I founded in 2020 to feed children living in food deserts. It would break my heart to close our doors and leave families hungry.
