My name is Mr. Enriquez. For the past 15 years, I have dedicated my life to education and to serving my community. I have taught grades 3–6, developed hands-on learning opportunities for students, and helped create a $1.5 million garden and robotics initiative that impacted thousands of children in Visalia. For the past seven years, I worked at Blue Oak Academy, where I helped build a positive school culture and supported families with care and commitment.
Last year, I worked with fellow educators to organize a teacher's union to improve support and stability for staff and students. This eventually led to challenges in the workplace, and I was unable to continue in my role. While I remain committed to supporting children and families, my family is now in a difficult position as a result.
Over the past 5 months, I have applied to more than 50 jobs and completed 15 interviews, but I have not yet secured steady employment. Substitute teaching is currently in very low demand in our area.
Because of this, we will not be able to afford our rent within the next month or two. My highest priority is keeping our children safe and stable. We are doing everything we can to prevent losing our home while I continue searching for work.
