Help Mr. Duty Get a Safe Home

Hello, my name is Shelley and I am a member of the Ponchatoula Kiwanis Club. As the club secretary, I receive on occasion requests from the community for assistance. We were recently asked by a concerned citizen if we could assist an elderly gentleman here in our town with repairs to his mobile home. He has holes in his roof and floors which has resulted in a serious rat problem. After looking at the mobile home with a contractor, it was determined that it would cost more money to get the home back to livable conditions than to just replace it. Even though our organization primarily focuses on the needs of children, I still felt compelled to try and help Mr. Duty. No one should have to live in unsafe conditions! I started searching for a used mobile home and located one that was in the process of being renovated for $6,000. However, the renovations haven't been completed so it would need some work. My contractor friend has agreed to do the work on the home to get it completed if I can secure the funds to pay for the materials. It is my hope that we can be blessed with enough funds to purchase the home, pay for the needed renovations and get the home delivered to Mr. Duty! Should additional funds be raised, 100% will go to the needs of Mr. Duty and his wellbeing.
