I’m Carmen Bruce-Annan, founder of Redwood International and creator of Brighter Days Ahead.

I lost my mum when I was six, and I know how hard it is to grow up without the right support to heal.

Every year, thousands of girls experience the same loss. Many grieve in silence, with little access to therapy or spaces that truly understand grief, their pain, and in some cases, their culture.

Brighter Days Ahead changes that. We offer free grief therapy, mentoring and coaching for girls aged 13-18 who’ve lost their mums, built with professional care and cultural understanding.

So far, we’ve:

• Completed 100% of our mentoring course and digital guide

• Finished 50% of our grief therapy series

• Produced 50% of our coaching modules

Now we’re raising £4,000 by 30 October to complete what’s left, so more girls can access healing before Christmas, when loss feels hardest.
