B and her two daughters (15 and 11 y/o) had their lives thrown into disarray one recent Saturday morning when B’s husband, E, left for work and did not return home after he was picked up by ICE and quickly deported to El Salvador. For twenty-one years, E has worked to make a living for himself and then his family, with a goal of starting his own painting company.
Everyone describes E as a loving father and husband who loved being home with his family. B mentioned that she has been told many times that it is unusual for a husband and father to be as involved as E is. They had a wonderful family routine where they would eat dinner together and then watch a movie in the evening. They would also enjoy going for walks with their dog or going to a local park. Now, B and her kids are afraid to leave their house out of fear of additional ICE encounters.
B is able to work some, but because of her daughters’ health issues, she needs work that is flexible, so she cannot look for a 9-to-5 job in case they need her during the day. Due to this, she and her family need some support, so if you are able to help, we hope that you will.
