Make Morrisville a Victory Town – Celebrate Our Revolutionary Legacy!
As Mayor of Morrisville, I’m proud to partner with the Morrisville Historic Society to raise funds for an exciting and meaningful initiative: enrolling Morrisville as an official Victory Town through the National Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route Association (W3R-US).
This is a unique opportunity to recognize our town’s proud Revolutionary War history and prepare for the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026.
️ Why Morrisville Matters:
Right here in Morrisville stands Summerseat—a nationally significant historic home where George Washington once stayed during the American Revolution. Even more remarkably, it was owned by two signers of the Declaration of Independence: Robert Morris and George Clymer.
Few towns can claim such a deep connection to our nation’s founding. By becoming a Victory Town, we ensure Morrisville’s story is included in the broader national celebration of liberty and independence.
Our Goal: $4,500
We’re raising $4,500 to secure a Leadership Level membership in the Victory Towns program. This includes:
✅ A framed, custom-written letter by historian Dr. Robert Selig, detailing Morrisville’s Revolutionary War connection
✅ The right to install official Victory Town road signs with the W3R trademark
✅ Access to educational materials for 4th and 8th grade classrooms
✅ Resources for hosting events and celebrations for the 250th anniversary
✅ A Victory Town historic marker provided in partnership with the Pomeroy Foundation
✅ An appearance by a W3R-US official for our town ceremony
✅ Two tickets to the Victory Town Mayors’ Reception on July 19, 2025, at the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia
️ What Is a Victory Town?
Victory Towns are communities located along the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route—the path American and French troops took to Yorktown, VA, where they won the war. The trail runs through nine states and Washington, D.C., and Morrisville is proudly part of it.
In Partnership With:
This fundraiser is organized in collaboration with the Morrisville Historic Society, which will help manage the project and develop community programming tied to this effort.
Let’s come together as a community and raise the $4,500 needed to put Morrisville on the national map of America’s Revolutionary story—just in time for the 250th anniversary of our country’s founding.
