It is getting cold outside and we are starting a new campaign of caring now for the winter of 2025-2026!
Mutual Morris has been providing emergency mutual aid relief to thousands of families across Morris County since early 2020 at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. We have been sharing food, clothing, diapers, emergency relief, and caring without qualifications. For the last few years, we have also participated in the annual HUD Point-in-Time count, making sure as many homeless community members as possible are counted so that we know how big and growing the problem of homelessness is.
By building relationships and listening, we know the barriers many people face in their struggles to survive in our economic system. We have met and befriended many, many people who have tried every non-profit and every government agency for help, they've applied for countless jobs, they've reached out to so many but only Mutual Morris has been there for them.
But we can only do as much as you help us with. We don't receive grants or funding from any organization, agency, or foundation. We are mutual aid, which means regular people pitching in to make our shared communities stronger and healthier for all.
We will use this space to raise funds for our neighbors who are ineligible for other supports and need our help to stay warm and safe this winter. Depending on how much we receive, that may mean things like hotel stays for the coldest nights, help with a deposit to move into permanent housing, transportation costs to go stay with family in another state, or buying items to protect them from the elements when they're outside.
We greatly appreciate your help during these difficult times. We know expenses have gone up for everyone, but if you can share even a few dollars here and there, it can add up and make a big difference for our most vulnerable friends.
