I have been avoiding posting anything political but now it’s hitting too close to home. My husband came here with the K-1 Visa in September of 2024, and we were married on October 19, 2024. We did comply with the terms, but we have not been able to start the process with his permanent residency as it has been a struggle to save the kind of money we need for this. Therefore, once his K-1 visa expires and the way things are now, if immigration makes a sweep wherever we may be, immigration can send him back to Mexico where he will have to wait until the process is complete. He recently enrolled in classes to learn English and has also enrolled in classes to earn his GED. He was telling me that a lot of people did not go to school in fear of immigration picking them up. His teacher gave them all cards with information on what to do in case something like that happens. What an awful thing for people who are going to school and trying to learn and to better themselves. Yes, I agree that criminals that are here illegally should be deported back to their home country, but people who are trying to better themselves and are contributing to our society are now in fear of their families being ripped apart.
It has been a tough battle, and I am not used to asking for help and with much hesitation, my sister finally convinced me. She said I am always the first one to help others and never ask for anything in return. Now, my dear friends and family, I am humbling myself and asking for help. No matter what your political stance may be, I am asking for your help to keep my family together and not separated. Anything is appreciated, and I pray that all mighty God blesses you all abundantly. Blessings, Morales-Valenzuela Family.
