Help Moo Get a New Handicap Van

Donation protected
This is my mom (we call her moo) with my 4 year old son and I am their full time caregiver. Many of you know our story but for those of you who do not I will fill you in (short version): in 1986 mom was 25 years old, had a 4 year old little girl, a newborn baby girl, and was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. By 1996 she had lost all mobility below the waist due to the MS. As long as I can remember, our family, our activities, our entire lives have had to accommodate ourselves as a handicapped family into a world that's not so "handicap accessible" or "disabled friendly". Our biggest challenge (other than health) was financially. Did you know that a brand new handicap van averages around $80,000? What disabled person has that kind of money or can afford that kind of payment? Definitely not us. We live simple and are committed to retaining our debt free lifestyle.

Mom currently rides in a 2002 Ford windstar van that has been converted to a handicap van (not factory made for a handicap person). We are very limited with this vehicle as we don't feel safe enough to drive this more than 60MPH, we don't drive it in the rain, the passenger side window does not roll down, in desperate need of tires, the sliding door doesnt shut all the way, and no farther distance than 1 hour from home. It's time for an upgrage but we simply can not afford it!

I want her to have a safe, reliable, and lasting vehicle so that we can take anywhere! I want to take her on all the adventures with her grand kids that she never got to have with my sister and I. I don't want her to be limited! I don't want her to miss this! She is NOT sick, she is disabled. The reason she doesn't get to participate in all the things that she really wants to is because of our lack of safe and reliable transportation for her.

I have prayed and prayed about how I would fulfill this need when God whispered, ASK.... just ask if any one would be willing and able to give toward this life changing purchase that is completely out of our budget and control?

SO I WILL ASK..... Will you give in honor of her birthday on November 15th toward a new van? Will you donate toward this immediate and local need during this season of giving? As you look to give this holiday season or your church wants to bless someone in this new year I pray you consider us.

Life is to short to sit at home and let it all pass you by, adventure awaits! Please help us buy moo a new handicap van.

*no amount is to small, all donations are needed and appreciated! My ultimate goal would be to buy her a brand new customized van for $80,000 but would settle for a $20,000 used one, either way we will have to purchase something soon and so 100% of the money donated here will go toward purchase of an upgraded handicap accessible van for her in the new year. Once we no longer have a need for this vehicle it will be donated to a local family in need*
Thank you and God Bless!
