Help Monique Study Acting in England
Donation protected
Monique Crawford is a multiracial African-Caribbean actor and multidisciplinary artist from Fairfield, California, who has just been accepted into the prestigious Linklater Teaching Practice MFA Program at Rose Bruford College in England. This unique two-year graduate program will allow Monique to earn both an MFA in Acting and become a Designated Linklater Teacher, combining the teachings of Kristin Linklater and Augusto Boal’s Theater of the Oppressed. Monique is deeply passionate about using theater as a tool for societal change and has dedicated her career to telling stories that uplift Black women and femmes, especially through new works in the Bay Area.
Monique’s impact in her community is significant—she has served as an actor, assistant director, house manager, scenic painter, and educator for Young People’s Theatre, consistently supporting the arts and inspiring others. She spends most of her time working on new works by and for Black women and femmes, as well as retellings of classic stories, ensuring that these voices are heard and represented authentically. The stage has been a place of truth and fellowship for Monique and her community, providing a safe haven where unfiltered stories can be told despite the challenges facing the arts.
Now, as Monique prepares to take her artistry to the next level on an international stage, she faces a heavy financial burden. Despite working multiple jobs to save for this opportunity, the costs of tuition, travel, living expenses abroad, and maintaining her responsibilities at home are overwhelming. Your support will help Monique bridge this financial gap, allowing her to pursue her dream and bring invaluable experiences and knowledge back to her community. Every contribution will go directly toward tuition, school-related fees, travel and relocation costs, living expenses, and essential bills at home. By helping Monique, you’re investing in a passionate artist and community leader who is committed to making a difference both locally and globally.
