Hi my name is Ysela Menjivar Howland. Together with Latanja Hurts Jordan and Tina Rhae Silva, we are raising funds for our sister Monica Taylor who is in dire need of help during this critical time in her life. Monica has been battling with her health. Most importantly, her heart. Her life changed in an instant when the doctor uttered the words…”you have heart failure and need heart surgery ASAP. She had a triple open heart procedure performed less than a year ago. When they opened her up, they discovered it was worse than was previously thought. She has since been unable to work as her health is very delicate. She’s been in and out of the hospital, which has put a huge financial burden on her. Disability has denied her, as has public assistance. She is appealing but that can take a long time. Monica currently cares for her mother, Mama June, and her daughter, Aaliyah who is still in school. At this point we are trying to raise funds to help keep a roof over her head, keep the utilities going, put food on her table and all the necessities such as doctor visits, ER visits and medications. Which, as we all know, can be very costly. She recently received a hospital bill with her responsibility being $132K. We need to help her not suffer with so much stress as she literally had a stress induced heart attack very recently. We’re asking for prayers as well, as we can’t imagine our lives without our sister. She’s our voice of wisdom, our shoulder to cry on, our reason for giggling and our pillar of strength. It’s our turn to take care of her. Won’t you please find it in your heart help us help her? No amount is too small and no prayer is unheard.
