Help Monica Hernández Rebuild After Tragic Fire

Dear Friends,

We write to share Monica’s story. Monica is a wonderful single mother who is going through incredibly tough times. On January 3rd 2025, a devastating fire destroyed Monica and Paul’s home, all their belongings, including her car, and most tragically, the fire claimed the life of their beloved cat, Smokey. While Monica had the foresight to have renter’s insurance, her coverage limits were minimal. Unfortunately, this is not enough to replace much of what she and Paul lost.

In addition to being the sole breadwinner for herself and her young son, Paul, Monica was diagnosed a year ago with two forms of aggressive breast cancer. She recently completed successful chemotherapy and radiation treatment and is currently cancer-free. Monica endured all this while lovingly caring for Paul, who is six years old and has special needs while continuing to work full-time.

We, her coworkers, have decided to come together to help her get back on her feet. We are raising funds so Monica and her son can find a new home and have the basics for a fresh start. Every donation, no matter the size, can make a significant difference. We sincerely thank all who can contribute to and help bring some relief to this brave mother and her precious son.
