My name is Malak, and the photos are of my sister Mona, and we are from Gaza. I write these words with a heart heavy with sorrow and exhaustion. Our lives were turned upside down by the recent genocide. Our home was completely destroyed, and we lost everything we had worked for. Today, my family and I live in a small rented space with almost nothing to our name, struggling each day to survive.
My father suffered a stroke and a brain hemorrhage. He needs ongoing medication, medical care, and proper nutrition, but we simply cannot afford them. There have been times when we have gone without his medicine because we have no money to buy it. Watching his health decline while feeling powerless to help is heartbreaking.
Our greatest hope is not just to survive, but to rebuild our lives with dignity. We want the opportunity to create a livelihood that allows us to support ourselves, pay our rent, buy food, and ensure my father receives the treatment he desperately needs. We don't want to depend on emergency aid forever—we want the chance to stand on our own feet again.
Every donation, no matter how small, will help us move toward that goal. Your support can help us secure the basic necessities we need today while giving us the opportunity to build a more stable future for our family.
I write these words not to ask for pity, but because I still believe there are kind and compassionate people in this world who are willing to help families like mine through the darkest moments of their lives.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Your kindness, support, or even sharing our appeal means more to us than words can express.
