Hey, my name is Matt and I’ll be the future father of our first baby, Zephyr- real soon.

I don’t expect this to get too much attention, but I’m really hoping it does. Currently, the love of my life (mother of our child) and myself are both working full time jobs, renting an apartment and trying to save and get by in this crazy economy in these crazy times. I know we aren’t the only ones struggling- but my heart has finally ticked a different tune today, one I don’t gravitate to very often- and I’m asking for help. Right now we are in a position where we literally need help financially because she will not receive maternity leave, and will be using all of what we’ve saved to bond for hoping a month even if that, with our child when he comes into this world. I’ll be picking up a part time job during paternity leave which is partial pay to help pay some bills but it still won’t be enough.My fiancé, has worked her ass of and recurved no unemployment when we went through the covid shit down, didn’t receive any assistance and lived on her savings to try and get through it. She’s been working vigorously to get a savings built for the baby,, but with taxes and bills; gas prices and rent- we are still barely doing it with both of our incomes. I’ve been at my job for 18 years and I still can not afford a live able wage because the economy has literally has turned my “career” into a low paying job, but I can not find anyone to match the benefits and income I need to leave it. With both of us trying our hardest, and our families helping as much as they can already- again, still Barry getting by- and it’s breaking my heart to know that my fiancé, mom to be, isn’t going to get the bonding experience a mother should have with her baby- and that this whole pregnancy has been nothing but financial stress and people saying “ don’t worry, you’ll get through it- you’ll be fine” when in actuality, this isn’t a normal time we are living in. This is very scary, and we are really scared because we want our child to come into a world not full of stress at home. We are so tired after our day- and I know this is probably really silly to even talk about, but this is a very real thing. We knew we were going to sacrifice and have to struggle a bit when this happened, but literally (as embarrassed as I am to even ask) I’m asking for any help from anyone right now. I’m also looking to finance a car I can drive my child in. My current vehicle won’t allow it as it’s a two seater. The market is insane, and I’m doing my best to shop around and not to be picky. Literally safety and reliability are what we need. But more than that, my fiancé deserves at least a maternity of some sort- and she doesn’t qualify through the government for aid. Just as she didn’t qualify during the shut down at the cris of COVID’s start.

so again, really crossing my fingers, praying and hoping that maybe someone would be willing to help us at all.
