Bill and Susan Wright have always been people who gave to needs as they could, often in spite of not having much themselves. On February 9, 2026, Susan lost Bill, her husband of 46 years. My brother and I lost our dad. Dad was a Vietnam Veteran, and a lifelong example to our friends and family of what true generosity and true friendship means for both our family and the communities our family has been a part of. Mom and Dad constantly showed up for people. They opened their home to anyone and everyone. They served, they gave, and most of all they loved to the best of their abilities.

Mom now faces the challenge of starting a new chapter on her own. She is currently living in a house that’s 115 years old, which, while full of memories, is no longer the best place for her to thrive. My brother and I want so much to help to pay off our parents' mortgage and to transition Mom to a much more stable and comfortable home for this next stage of life. Our family hopes to help Mom move within the next six-twelve months, bringing her closer to loved ones, namely her granddaughter so she can be surrounded by warmth, support, safety and care.

Many friends and family have already stepped in to help with funeral expenses, and the family is deeply grateful. Now, we are reaching out to our community to ask for support in making sure she is cared for in the way she deserves and our dad would have wanted.
