Help Molly & Chase with Medical Shenanigans!
Donation protected
On Feb. 13th at 5 am Molly and Chase woke up to her water breaking at 29 weeks 3 days gestation. We got in the car and drove straight to Mayo Clinic in Mankato, where Molly got started on a few medications to help mitigate infection and to give baby an extra boost just in case it was go time. A couple of hours later, she and the Creature got on a helicopter headed to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and dad tried to gather a few things from home and drove to Rochester shortly after. Things slowly improved over Sunday and Monday, and now mom and dad and the creature are at Mayo Clinic until whenever baby decides to arrive. Our best hope is delivering around 34 weeks, at which point it's the experts opinions that there is no benefit to baby and mom in continuing bed rest.
Right now, we need money!
1. Our top priority is to get Molly health insurance for the month of March. Though she took no breaks from work when she changed jobs on Feb. 7th, she discovered to her surprise that her new job would not cover her for March and would only start benefits on April 1st. She is currently working with her old job on getting coverage through COBRA to have continuity from Feb to March, to avoid having to meet too many deductibles. The money with also go towards the two deductibles we will have to meet, one for each policy, the current one and the one at the new job, and then any medical bills past that deductible which I'm sure will exist (the helicopter ride could not have been cheap).
2. Molly is also SOL with using any short term disability from either job until Apr. 1st so Molly's not making any income, having worked her new job for a total of 5 days. Super stressful when Molly and Chase discovered we'd be unprotected by anyone, at the time worrying about the worst case scenario, which is now reality.
3. We will have a preemie on our hands no matter how things go the next few weeks, and baby will also need some health insurance when it likely arrives in Feb. or March, so we'll be looking for that coverage and paying that as well.
4. Chase is doing his best to keep working while bouncing back and forth- the more cushion we have, the more Molly can have Chase at her side.
So, any help is so appreciated at this time- it will lift a weight off of their chests and allow them to focus on our tiny creature and caring for mommy in recovery.
Love Love Love from our tiny family,
Molly, Chase, and the Creature
