We did it!!! Moises Vargas Mayorga is Going Home
Donation protected
***UPDATE: We’re incredibly relieved and overjoyed to share that Moises has been released and will soon be reunited with his parents.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who advocated for him and donated so quickly. This united effort from friends, teammates, and our broader community played a major role in his release, and his family is deeply grateful.
Funds raised will go toward legal fees and travel expenses incurred during this process. Any remaining funds will support the family’s return to Nicaragua.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for making this happen. ***
For the first time in Queen Anne Little League history, the QALL Intermediates All-Star Team from Seattle won the Washington State title and traveled to compete in the Western Regional Tournament in Nogales, Arizona. This major milestone for the players and team unfortunately took an unexpected and difficult turn.
Moises Vargas Mayorga, a 13-year-old player who moved to Seattle from Nicaragua two years ago, was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement while in Arizona. He was traveling without his parents and was taken into custody and placed in a youth detention facility.
His family has secured legal support and many in the community have been working with lawmakers to help bring Moises home. His parents are desperate to get him released, as are so many in his community who care very much about him.
Your donation will go directly toward legal fees, travel expenses, and other assistance the family may need. We truly appreciate any support you're able to give.
