Reunite Mohammed With His Wife & Children
Donation protected
This fundraising page aims to share Mohammad’s story and to canvass fundraising support for him and his family, who are stranded in the terrifying and hostile war zone of Afghanistan.
Mohammad has lived and worked in Geelong, Victoria, for over three years and Australia has become his safe haven. His home. He’s employed with the Southern Star Group as a Site Service Technician and he’s an incredibly hardworking and humble man.
Unfortunately, Mohammad’s wife and two sons, aged 16 and 14, live a life filled with torment and fear in the Taliban-ruled confines of Kabul, Afghanistan.
His wife can’t leave the home without a male companion, her father. As a family, they struggle to find moments of inspiration and hope, as each day blends into the next. Mohammad’s biggest fear is receiving a dreaded phone call to inform him that his wife and boys have fallen victim to a malicious act of the Taliban.
Having not seen his wife and sons for five years, Mohammad has desperately sought to have his family join him in Australia during this time.
Recently, with the grant of a Permanent Residency Visa by the Australian Government, he has enlisted the help of a migration agent and is taking gradual steps toward realizing his ultimate dream – reuniting and building a new life with his family in Australia.
But like many ventures in life, this process comes with a significant financial burden. In total, by the time Mohammad’s family lands on Australian soil, he will have spent close to $50,000 to make it happen.
From Australian Immigration fees to Migration Agent fees, to medical and biometric assessment fees, flight expenses to relocate his family…the expenses don’t show any sign of slowing down.
Complicating matters is the fact that there isn’t an operating and accessible Australian Embassy in Afghanistan, so Mohammad had to pay for travel and accommodation expenses for his wife and sons to undergo biometric testing.
With generous contributions and support from the community, Mohammad will be able to afford to help his family escape the terror and torment of Afghanistan and reunite with them in Australia.
A future of hope, light and positivity can be forged if the community digs deep and does its bit to ‘give back’.
Please consider donating to be the beacon of hope for Mohammad and his family. Your contribution, no matter the size, will directly contribute to their journey towards safety and a new life.
