Help my family leave Gaza to fulfill our dreams

Hello everyone <3

My name is Mohammed and I am fundraising for my family to leave our beloved Gaza for Egypt. It is time for us to take action to leave, whatever the cost, so we can protect what is left of us. We won’t give up on our past, our future, our ambitions and dreams.

My family and I are from the North of Gaza, but with many of our relatives and friends being killed, we were pushed into Rafah. Here we live in a ticking time bomb of destruction and bombardment. We are suffering from hunger, fear, lack of water, electricity and safe accommodation.

Before Israel's horrors I graduated University in English Language, teached in children's schools and I was a coach for the Gaza Freedom Skaters, a great and big team in Gaza.

In the past months I have dedicated my time and energy to helping other people in Rafah with donations from abroad. We were able to set up a system that provided food, water and blankets to the many families living under unimaginable barbaric circumstances. See the video below:

With the ongoing bombardments, sadistic control of humanitarian aid and threats to invade Rafah, only one chance of life remains: the crossing of the Egyptian border.

This fund will be our only chance to live, but it’s one that doesn't come with a cheap price ticket.

The funds will be allocated as follows:

1. The company facilitating travel from Gaza to Egypt, Hala company, has offered their paid service since 2019, ensuring secure border crossings from Gaza to Egypt. Although their prices have fluctuated Egypt now regulated the costs of crossing to the amount of 5.000$ a person. Currently Hala is the only possibility of crossing the border.

8 x 5.000 = 40.000 $

2. The moment the money is raised our family’s friends in Egypt are able to personally pay the fees at the Hala office in Cairo. As Hala requires this fee to be paid in dollars, and in cash we need to take into account the gofundme fee of 2.99 % and exchange fees. These costs plus a small buffer for unforeseen financial hurdles will be an estimated 3.000 $

3. Egypt offers no structural emotional or financial support networks to Palestinian refugees. We therefore ask for an additional 4.000 $ to at least grant us rent, medical support and food on our plates for the first 2 months in Cairo.

total = 47.000 $

total = +- 44.000 euros
