Hey ya’ll, my name is Monique AKA Mo. I’m an organizer and service worker living in Washington DC. Since March 9th 2025, I have been displaced from my home after my abusive ex girlfriend attacked me and then attempted to set my house on fire. The stress and trauma, plus the physical damage caused by her, the fire department, and my landlords slow and inadequate response caused me to need to move. I have been staying w/ friends and leaning on my community the last 4 months, during which time I didnt have a full time job until a few weeks ago.

I have finally secured an apartment of my own and gotten final approval for an August 1st move in — all thats left is to raise $3,000 (1485 for the deposit + 1485 for 1st months rent) plus roughly $500 to allow for moving costs.

I firmly believe in community care and have nothing but gratitude for my friends and community who have supported me during some of the worst moments of my 30 years here on earth ❣️❣️
