Help MMS Kids: In Honor Of Gene

In March 2025, my grandfather, Gene Carter, passed away after 9 long years of fighting interstitial lung disease. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion. To me, he wasn't just a grandfather - he was a dad. He guided me, loved me, and showed me what it means to live a full life of purpose.

He grew up at Mountain Mission School in Grundy, Virginia, alongside my grandmother and a lot of other close family members and friends. MMS was not just a school; it was a safe home that gave him a future. It always remained close in his heart, and he dedicated much of his life to giving back.

After months of planning with MMS, I'm honored to announce a service trip in his memory. If you'd like to help, we are collecting donations to support current students at MMS for the 25-26 school year. These donations will be used to purchase items such as:
