As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, dear brothers and sisters,
We are raising funds for our beloved sister Missy, a woman whose dedication to the Muslim community has left a deep impact—especially among incarcerated brothers seeking faith and connection with Allah.
Missy served as the volunteer coordinator at a local prison where many of us began our dawah efforts. When we first started, we were only one Muslim volunteer. Thanks to her unwavering support, we grew to a team of over 25, providing khutbahs, Qur’ans, Islamic education, and heartfelt presence to dozens of inmates hungry for spiritual growth.
Missy made our cause her own, despite not being Muslim at the time. SubhanAllah, in December 2023, she took her shahada, and her dedication only deepened.
But today, Missy is struggling.
Because of her outspoken support for Muslims and Islam in the prison, the administration terminated her position. She now faces severe financial hardship, and is at risk of losing her home while trying to cover urgent bills.
She has since started working with a nonprofit helping people in transitional housing, continuing to serve others even while enduring her own crisis.
We are launching this GoFundMe to raise $4,000 to help Missy avoid eviction, stabilize her situation, and show her the same support she once gave us.
Missy stood with us.
Now it’s our turn to stand with her.
Let’s come together as an ummah and support a sister who helped bring Islam into the hearts of those society often forgets.
“Whoever relieves a believer’s hardship, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment.”
— Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Muslim)
May Allah reward you for your kindness.
Please donate, make dua, and share this campaign widely.
Jazakum Allahu khayran,
Ahmet & the Volunteer Team
